HCS current internet connection is a 10Gb/s ethernet circuit with 2Gb/s of allocated bandwidth. HCS currently averages over 1Gb/s with bursts up to 1.5Gb/s. HCS expects to increase bandwidth within 12-24 months as demand increases. The current HCS firewall is also used to secure its internal network infrastructure. It is currently connected to the core network with four 10Gb/s fiber connections to the “inside” network using LACP to share bandwidth between the connections and provide for redundancy. The “inside” network consists of six VLANs being filtered through the existing firewall. It is connected with two 10Gb/s fiber connections to the “outside” network using LACP. Current firewall load is: 1Gb/s ingress (average during peak times, includes internal only traffic and internet traffic) 2Gb/s egress (average during peak times, includes internal only traffic and internet traffic) 180,000 connections per second 250,000 packets per second ingress 350,000 packets per second egress These numbers are expected to increase over the next few years. Requirements: 1. 10Gb/s Ethernet Interfaces, minimum of 4 (two for inside network, two for outside network) 2. Must be able to filter/scan/block as a traditional port based firewall and up to Layer 7 for application filtering/blocking. 3. Must have security subscriptions for viruses, trojans, malware, content. 4. Must be able to scan network traffic for viruses, malware, etc. 5. Must be able to filter based on GeoIP and include database subscription to GeoIP data. 6. Ability to use system to prevent malicious websites and applications (phishing, virus/trojan downloads, etc). 7. Minimum of 5Gb/s filtering throughput with all security features enabled (SSL decryption, virus scanning, malware detection, for example) 8. HCS currently has over 15,000+ Apple Macintosh computers (Mac OS X 1.6.x-10.11, running Safari, Chrome, Firefox), 2,000+ Windows PCs (Windows XP - Windows 10, IE, Edge, Firefox, Chrome), 10,000 Apple iPads, 800 Google Chromebooks. System must support all platforms listed, including homebound/remote users on the above systems. 9. HTTPS/SSL decryption/encryption for filtering SSL based web sites and services. 10. A method for handling pinned certificates embedded in applications and detecting those applications for exclusion from filtering if needed. 11. A method for filtering remote users. 12. A method for including and excluding HTTPS web sites for decrypting. 13. A quick process for adding URLs or Applications to the vendor’s subscription database, frequent database updates, and responsive system for dealing with exceptions and categories to avoid manual white and black listing. 14. Ability to integrate with Active Directory for filter bypass, user tracking information, etc. 15. Any filtering/blocking “Block” page must have ability to authenticate user (via Active Directory) in order to bypass the block (dictated by group rules or other criteria) 16. Ability to ingest RADIUS authorization messages from Aruba Clearpass for single sign on-like functionality (automatically log user into filter when authenticated to our wireless network), or equivalent functionality using similar technology (JSON/XML, RADIUS, log ingestion, etc) 17. Support OSPF for dynamic routing for inside network traffic. 18. Support BGP for internet connections 19. Supports multiple VLANs on LACP network connections for filtering inside network traffic. 20.
